`Build temple, mosque in Ayodhya'

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI. FEB. 7. The Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust has called for the construction of a Ram Janmabhoomi temple and a mosque to begin simultaneously from March 21.

In a statement issued today the trust has called for the resolution of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute on the basis of the Acquisition of Certain Area at Ayodhya Act 1993.

Maulana Umair Illyasi, chairman of the Trust and Saiyyed Asghar Rizvi, the managing trustee, said that they were submitting their suggestions to the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, for his consideration. They have complimented Mr. Vajpayee for "his serious efforts to resolve the issue."

They have accused the former Prime Ministers, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Deve Gowda and I.K. Gujral for "complicating the Ayodhya issue."
