SRINAGAR, FEB. 7. Eighteen persons, including five militants, four security personnel and two villagers were killed and 30 others injured in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours. According to an official spokesman, militants shot dead Zahoor Ahmad Baba, a senior Ikhwani commander, at Maliknag Anantnag today. In another incident, militants attacked a crowded bus stand by hurling a hand grenade and firing shots on a patrol party at Shopian in south Kashmir this afternoon. However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside injuring 31 persons, including three soldiers. Two of the injured was stated to be critical. Five militants and three soldiers were killed in the nightlong fierce clash that took place at Tatvass Behak near Bandipora in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, he said.
