HYDERABAD, FEB. 7. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has forecast a one-sided verdict in favour of the National Democratic Alliance and its partners at the Centre and the State as the Congress does not have a leader of the calibre of the Prime Minister, A.B. Vajpayee. The Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, was no match for Mr. Vajpayee, Mr. Naidu said while interacting with Telugu Desam Party workers during the `Dial your president' programme over a private TV channel. The Chief Minister said people were in no mood to recognise Ms. Gandhi's leadership. Referring to the backward classes convention organised by the Congress in the city yesterday, Mr. Naidu said the Congress organised the meeting with claims of announcing a policy and package for BCs but nothing of the sort took place. Giving a call to the party workers to work unitedly for the victory in the elections, Mr. Naidu said various surveys had shown that the party stood on a strong footing. He asked them to take the `jenda' programme of the party to contact masses on bicycles seriously. The calendar must be drawn up such that all villages could be visited. Mr. Naidu began his interaction with attacking naxalites for violence. He also referred to the separatist politics of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the foreign origin of Ms. Gandhi, both of which would be party's election issues.
