THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 7. The CPI(M) politburo member, M. K. Pandhe, has said that merely because People's Plan Campaign has been implemented in the State, it would not be correct to say that there has been dilution in the CPI(M) ideology. Replying to questions at a news conference here today, Dr. Pandhe said the party was firmly opposed to acceptance of foreign assistance with conditionality and that it had never hesitated to take action against persons found to have compromised on ideology. He cited the case of P. Govinda Pillai and pointed out that in his case, the party had taken appropriate action. The People's Plan Campaign, he said, was the brainchild of the late E. M. S. Namboodiripad, and had helped to take governance closer to the people. The Kerala party was taking steps to ensure that there was no dilution of ideology. The party politburo had directed all State committees to carry on with the work of rectification, he added.
