CHITTOOR, FEB. 7. The Anantapur range Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tirumala Rao, has said the police will deal with naxalites firmly. Talking to reporters here last night, Mr. Tirumala Rao said naxalities were on the run as people had stopped giving shelter to them. A special drive to identify naxalite hideouts was on, he said. He said tight security arrangements were being taken in view of the elections. In first phase `problematic' villages would be identified and criminals and anti-social elements rounded up. He also said activities of pseudo naxalites would be checked.
