At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 29.2 degree Celsius and minimum was 21.0 degree Celsius respectively on Saturday. Humidity both at 8.30 a.m. and at 5.30 p.m. was 64 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 31.0 degree Celsius and 21.3 degree Celsius respectively, while humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 71 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 55 per cent.

At Dolphin's Nose, the maximum temperature was 29.2 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was 20.0 degree Celsius and humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 68 per cent.

Museum closed for renovation

The Visakha Museum on the Beach Road here will be closed to the public from February 9 in view of the renovation work to be taken up, according to the official spokesman of the Municipal Corporation.

Awareness programme

Youth should concentrate on self-employment opportunities in the wake of dwindling Government jobs, speakers at an awareness programme on self-employment opined on Saturday.

The District Youth Welfare Officer, V.N. Rao, who was the chief guest to the programme jointly organised by Global Welfare Society and V.S. Krishna Government College Alumni Association, noted that opportunities were aplenty for youth with creativity, drive and dedication.

New principal

The Regional Director of DAV Institutions, South Zone-II, Nanduri Sobhanadri, has taken charge as the new Principal of DAV Public School, Butchirajupalem.

New ED for UBI

The Central Government has appointed General Manager of Vijaya Bank, K. Rathnakar Hegde, as Executive Director of the Union Bank of India, according to the Assistant General Manager of UBI here, M.K. Ravivarma.
