Award for Kakkanadan

THRISSUR, FEB. 9. The litterateurs, Kakkanadan, M. Sukumaran and M. N. Palooru, have been selected for the 2003 Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards for life-time achievement.

The following are the winners of the Akademi endowments for 2003: Sree Padmanabhaswamy Award, Rs. 2,500 — Kureepuzha Sreekumar (for the work, `Penangunni'); I. C. Chacko Award, Rs. 2,000 — E. V. N. Namboodiri (`Kerala Bhasha Charithram'); C. B. Kumar Award, Rs. 1,500 — Zachariah (`Matham, Samskaram, Mathamaulikavadam'); K. R. Namboodiri Award, Rs. 2,000 — Rajan Chungath (`Shroutham'); Kanakasree Award, Rs. 2000 — S. Joseph (`Karutha Kallu'); G. N. Pillai Award, Rs. 3,000 — C. K. Ramachandran (`Vaidyasastram Puthiya Noottandukaliloode'); Natakavedi Award, Rs. 2,500 — A. Santhakumar (`Kurudan Poocha') and Geeta Hiranyan Award, Rs. 5,000 — S. Sithara (`Veshapakarcha').
