Central Excise awareness campaign

CHENNAI, FEB. 11. The Chennai Central Excise Commissionerate has launched an awareness drive and educate service providers on the need to register themselves with the Department and pay service tax.

In a press release, K.C. Singh, Commissioner of Central Excise, Chennai-I, said the department proposed to hold an on-the-spot registration on February 13 and 20 at the Thiruvottiyur Pothu Varthagar Sangam, 390/1, T.H. Road, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai-19, and the Chennai Arunattu Velalar Sangam, 13, Linghi Chetty Street, Chennai-600 001. All service providers located in the areas under Corporation of Chennai divisions 1 to 31, 36, 40 to 45, 47 to 49, 52, 100, 102, and 103, Minjur Firka of the Ponneri Taluk and Madhavaram Firka of the Ambattur Taluk in Thiruvallur District were requested to make use of the opportunity.
