BANGALORE, FEB. 11. An elderly couple sustained burns in a fire reportedly caused by a leaking gas cylinder here on Wednesday, according to police. The incident occurred at Rajyothsavanagar in BTM Layout. Police said Nigamma (60), who lit the gas stove, cried for help when her clothes caught fire. Her husband, Karianna (65), who reportedly rushed to her aid, was also engulfed in flames, they added. Neighbours who came to their rescue managed to bring the fire under control. The couple have been shifted to a private hospital. Liquor shop burgled: A wine shop in Madivala police limits was found burgled on Wednesday morning. According to the owner of the shop, Rs. 32,000 is missing from the shop. Police have registered a case.
