KOCHI, FEB. 11. Activists of the Yuvajanavedi gheraoed the office of SN Travels on the Ammankovil Road in the city this morning and held the travel agency operator, R. Prabhakaran, captive till the Ernakulam Central police intervened. The police later arrested Mr. Prabhakaran on charges of illegal recruitment of people allegedly for the occupation forces led by the United States in Iraq. According to the police, about 15 activists of the Yuvajanavedi marched to the office of the travel agency carrying placards against the agency and shouting slogans demanding that Mr. Prabhakaran be arrested. A Yuvajanavedi press release alleged here today that SN Travels was recruiting ex-servicemen and unemployed youth to the occupation forces in Iraq. P. T. Prakashan, secretary of the Yuvajanavedi, said in the statement that the activists had held the protest as the police were "doing nothing" to stop the activities of the travel agency.
