Around The City

No change in temperature

A clear sky has been forecast in the city on Friday. Minimum temperature is likely to be around 17 degree Celsius. On Thursday the city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.2 degree Celsius and a minimum of 17.5 degree Celsius. Relative humidity was 51 per cent.

Fee payment extended

The fee payment last date for appearing in the seventh class common examination has been extended to February 28 with a penal fee of Rs. 300.

Action against teacher

The Hyderabad Collector, Veerabhadraiah, has instructed the District Education Officer to initiate action against Madhavi, a teacher at the Government Primary School, NBT Nagar, for being absent from October 29, 2002, without permission.

He also asked the DEO to frame charges against the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Yousuf Shareef, for not attending to duties.

Commandant appointed

Lt. Gen. V.C. Jain has been appointed 44th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. An alumni of the College of Defence Management and the National Defence College, Lt. Gen. Jain has been decorated thrice by the President.

Traffic DCP takes over

B. Shivadhar Reddy took over as Deputy Commissioner of Police-2 (Traffic) of city on Thursday.

An IPS officer of 1994 batch, Mr. Reddy worked as Additional Superintendent of Police of Bellampally in Adilabad district and SP of Nalgonda and Srikakulam districts.
