BANGALORE, FEB. 12. Bangalore University and the Community-Based Rehabilitation Network (South Asia) will offer national-level human resource development courses for the disabled people and professionals on community-based rehabilitation. Indumathi Rao, regional coordinator of the network, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the distance education programmes were aimed at providing career opportunities to the disabled people. It also aimed at training professionals to work for the welfare of the disabled. The courses to be offered included postgraduate diploma in community-based rehabilitation (planning and management), diploma in community-based rehabilitation, and certificate courses in inclusive education and other related subjects. These courses would be shortly announced by the university, Ms. Rao said. The courses would include online classes, tutorials, and training by middle-level professionals who would be the interface in the process.
