Letters to the Editor
Sir, We Indians never tire of singing the glory of our ancient civilisation and our culture. Yet we continue to adopt Western customs indiscriminately. I fail to see what place St. Valentine's Day has in our culture. Come February and the media play up Valentine's Day like it is nobody's business. Greeting card dealers make a killing and teenagers go crazy sending messages of so-called love to members of the opposite sex. We elders will be failing in our duty if we do not educate the younger generation about the value of our traditions.
C.V.K. Moorthy,
