KURNOOL, FEB. 13. Members of the District Task Force on Pulse Polio met here on Friday under the chairmanship of the Collector, Ajay Jain, to discuss the arrangements for the second round of polio vaccination scheduled for February 22. Mr. Jain asked the officers to concentrate on the areas bordering Karnataka from where several positive cases were reported last year. The committee decided to hold a wireless conference on February 16 to motivate field level officers. Similarly, rallies would be organised on February 21 to educate the public about the importance of the programme. The DMHO, K.K. Saiprasad, told the meeting that 2,548 centres were set up in the first round. Fifteen mobile teams and 35 teams in tribal areas were constituted to cover interior areas. The same infrastructure would be used for the second round too.
