8 SPs promoted DIGs

CHENNAI, FEB. 13. The Government today promoted eight Superintendents of Police (SP) Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIG) and posted one of them as Tiruchi Commissioner.

Shankar Jiwal, A.K. Viswanathan, Seema Agarwal and T.V. Ravichandran, who were at present with the Narcotics Control Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation and the Intelligence Bureau, have been promoted without prejudice to their deputation to the Union Government.

T. P. Sundaramurthy, SP, Nagapattinam district, is the new Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi.

Abash Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (North), has been posted as DIG, Administration, Chennai. K. Gopalakrishnan is the new DIG, Tirunelveli range, in the place of Prateep V. Philip, who has been posted as Chief Vigilance Officer, Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited, Chennai. Mr. Gopalakrishnan will also hold full additional charge of the post of the Tirunelveli Commissioner.

N. Chenbaharaman, SP, State Human Rights Commission, has been posted as DIG in the commission.
