Postpone tour: Minister
NEW DELHI,
FEB. 13.
India's cricket tour of Pakistan should be postponed till security agencies are absolutely sure that no harm would come to the players from terrorists during their stay in that country, the Union Minister of State for Home, Swamy Chinmayanand, said tonight.
"The decision with regard to the tour will have to be taken by the BCCI. My advice is that no risk should be taken and the tour should be postponed till such time the security agencies feel that the atmosphere is conducive to play," he told PTI here.
Observing that the security of the players was topmost, he said any untoward incident could have a serious effect on the peace process initiated by the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with Pakistan.
