Case against Inspector

The Tukaramgate police on Friday registered criminal cases against M.B. Venkata Swamy, who is working as Inspector of Narayankhed police station in Medak district, on charges of cheating, criminal intimidation and marrying again during lifetime of wife following a complaint from a woman, Hatiya Ruksana.

A resident of Marredpally, Ruksana, stated in her complaint that she came to know that she was Mr. Swamy's fourth wife. The Gopalapuram in-charge ACP, M. Diwakar, said the allegations were being investigated.

Found dead

The body of an unidentified man aged about 34 years was found in a gunny bag in the Hussain Sagar lake on Friday. A murder case was registered.

Held on cheating charge

Sleuths of the Hyderabad police Detective Department on Friday apprehended a person,

Ch. Bramhaiah Chowdary (33), on the charge of cheating a software firm to the tune of Rs. 1.05 crores. Mr. Brahmaiah and his friend, Raghavendra Reddy, were charged with duping Mansree Infotech with false promises of providing data conversion work from foreign companies, a press release said. In another case, an ex-convict, Samad Shareef, of Dabeerpura was arrested by officials. Stolen property worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs was recovered from him.
