KOCHI, FEB. 13. There is a need to step up activities to check drug abuse since the maximum number of HIV positive and AIDS patients are found among this group, a member of the Swiss National Parliament, Heiner Studer, said after inaugurating a national seminar on `Alcholol and HIV/AIDS' here today. The three-day seminar, organised by the Kerala chapter of the Blue Cross Society of India, at Ashirbhavan, was part of the annual conference of the Blue Cross. Dawn Ehrhard from Wingard, Mexico, spoke on acupuncture treatment for detoxification and by PNR Raju, lecturer of the Al Ameen College, Aluva on HIV/AIDS in the Indian scenario.
