Bangalore Feb. 13. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will hold meter melas next week for residents of areas brought under the north and west divisions of the BWSSB a few years ago. At the programme, they can submit applications for domestic water connections. Meter melas for Sanjaynagar (north division) and Ward Nos. 38, 39, and 40 (west division) will be held on Monday. The programme at Sanjaynagar will begin at 10 a.m. at the BWSSB's service station in the locality. Residents of Siddivinayaka Layout, Central Excise Layout, MLA layout, Bhoopasandra and Geddalahalli villages, Bande Colony, Teachers' Layout, Tailoring Society, Venkateshwara Layout, Gowdara Colony and NTI Layout (Nagashettyhalli), and Krishnappa Layout can attend the mela. As many as 400 connections will be sanctioned and meters distributed. On Monday, two such programmes will be organised at 9.30 a.m. at Jai Maruthi Yuvakara Sangha (for Ward No. 39 - Nagarabhavi and Teachers' Colony) and at the BMP Ward office at Moodalapalya (for Ward No. 38 Moodalapalya, Shakthi Nagar, Anubhavanagar, Madhuranagar, and Shanthaveera Gopalagowdanagar). On Tuesday at 9.30 a.m., a meter mela will be organised for residents of Ward No. 40 near the Thunga mini water supply tank, Maruthinagar. The programme will be organised on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) ward office at Jalahalli village. Residents of Sharadambanagar (Ward No. 1), Jalahalli (Ward No. 1), and Bahubali Nagar (Ward No. 2) can participate. As many as 400 connections will be sanctioned. The BWSSB will issue application forms (Rs. 60) at the meter melas. However, applicants must produce their BMP property tax receipts and house plans sanctioned by the BMP. They will have to pay a fee of Rs. 1,740 for water connection to the ground floor and Rs. 600 to each additional floor. Applications for water connections to apartments/commercial complexes and houses with more than two floors will be sanctioned after inspection. The BWSSB Area Assistant Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer, and Executive Engineer will be present at the meter melas.
