KOLAR, FEB. 14. K. Padmanabhan, Chief General Manager (Karnataka Telecom Circle), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), has said that the BSNL will provide more mobile-phone connections. He was speaking to presspersons after presenting the Sanchar Seva Padak and Sanchar Sarathi awards to four BSNL personnel here on Friday. Mr. Padmanabhan said BSNL planned to increase the number of mobile-phone connections from 3.5 lakh to 8.5 lakh. The master control centre for pre-paid mobile connections in Hyderabad and the Home Local Register facility in Bangalore would be expanded to meet the growing demand for mobile connections.
