NEW DELHI, FEB. 14. The Supreme Court which had dismissed at the admission stage a special leave petition (SLP) seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged business activities of godman, Kalki Bhagvan alias V. Vijayakumar has told the petitioner's counsel that the dismissal order would not prevent the petitioner from taking further recourse to remedies available in law. A Bench, comprising of Justice Ruma Pal and Justice P. Venkatarama Reddi, had dismissed the SLP from Vishwanath Swami, a social activist, challenging a judgment of the Madras High Court rejecting his plea for a probe into Kalki Bhagvan's business activities after hearing counsel, Prashant Bhushan. Subsequently, counsel requested the Bench to incorporate in the order that the petitioner would be at liberty to approach the High Court. The Bench told counsel that the petitioner could approach the High Court once again, if the authorities concerned persisted with their inaction and in the case the High Court dismissed the petition citing the apex court order as the ground, then the petitioner could move the apex court.
