NEW DELHI, FEB. 14. A Delhi police personnel was arrested today by the Economic Offences Wing of the police for allegedly conniving with directors of a non-banking finance company (NBFC) in duping several people of their money. The three directors of the company have already been arrested by the Chandigarh police and were brought to Delhi on remand on Friday. According to the police, assistant sub-inspector, Raj Pal Singh, posted with New Ashok Nagar police station in East Delhi, used to lure investors for the directors of the company, running in the name of M/S Golden Forest India Limited and M/S Golden Project Limited. The directors of the company - Amrit Syal, Neena Syal and Pamila Syal -- had floated a company which promised a 10-time return on the initial investment made on group land-holdings after a period of 10 years. However, later the company, which had recruited people and opened branches at various places in the country, closed down. The people lost money to the tune of Rs. 980 crores in all as a result of the alleged fraud. In the Delhi region itself, 27 victims went on record about the fraud done by the said NBFC.
