According to the police, the body was discovered near bushes at RBI Colony on the road from Vasant Vihar to Mahipalpur around 2 p.m. The assailant had completely smashed the head of the man. An empty bottle of liquor and an empty glass were also found near the body. Later, the body was identified as that of Surender, a resident of Vasant Vihar jhuggies. Investigations revealed that Surender, who originally hailed from Banda in Uttar Pradesh, used to drive an autorickshaw. The police suspect that the incident could be a result of personal enmity or even that of sudden provocation after consuming alcohol. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Meanwhile, a case of murder has been registered at Vasant Kunj police station and further investigations are on.
