Akbar Ahmed 'Dumpy' rejoins BSP

LUCKNOW, FEB. 14. The former Lok Sabha member and Congress leader, Akbar Ahmed ``Dumpy'', today rejoined the Bahujan Samaj Party after two years, saying the BSP was better placed to give a stiff fight to the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress reacted promptly expelling him from the party for six years for anti-party activities.

Elected to the Lok Sabha from Azamgarh on the BSP ticket in 1998, he had joined the Congress in 2002.
