COIMBATORE, FEB. 14. The diversion of trains via Irugur and Podanur (skipping Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junctions) for the line-doubling work came to an end today. It may be recalled that the line-doubling work between Coimbatore Junction and Irugur, was taken up in two phases. The first phase was between Coimbatore Junction and Coimbatore North railway stations and the authorities took up the non-interlocking work between these two stations. A number of trains were diverted since January end skipping these two stations. With the successful completion of the non-interlocking work, the two lines were thrown open. All the scheduled trains would be touching Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction from Sunday.
