Vienna woos south Indian tourists

CHENNAI, FEB. 15. The Vienna Tourist Board (VTB) plans to organise roadshows, interactive sessions with media, travel-trade and tour operators, to promote tourism from south India.

Giving details of the special promotional campaign in Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi, Ines Griesser, Media Manager, told a press conference here that the board, with the assistance of tour operators, would come out with specific holiday package for luxury-segment travellers, middle class families, honeymooners and for film personalities. ``Our Chennai mission is to specifically target filmmakers as Vienna is a promising shooting destination.'' Ms. Griesser said at present the Austrian Airlines provides a daily connection to New Delhi. Efforts were on to connect Mumbai, besides exploring the feasibility of linking Chennai.
