Man held; ganja seized

MANGALORE, FEB. 15. Kavoor police on Sunday arrested a person on the charge of illegal possession of ganja.

Acting on a tip-off, police searched a motorcycle belonging to Kamlesh Prasad Mishra of Madhya Pradesh, which was parked in front of a hotel at Kulur near here, and recovered 100 gm. of ganja wrapped in a plastic cover. Mishra was working as a mason, according to the police. The value of the seizure is estimated to be Rs. 800.

Killed

One person was killed and another injured when they reportedly fell off a motorcycle by which they were travelling near Karavali Utsav exhibition grounds at Lalbagh this afternoon.

Police gave the name of the deceased as Bharatesh (21), a resident of Marigudi, Urva. His friend, Rohith, who was riding pillion, was injured.
