NEW DELHI, FEB. 15. Two whitewashers, who allegedly robbed a 62-year-old woman of jewellery, cash and some other valuables and strangled her in her house at Vikaspuri in West Delhi on January 25 night, have been arrested. The woman, Indira Kumar, was found strangled with a muffler and the house ransacked. Enquiries revealed that two whitewashers had come to meet her the day she was murdered. From the spot, the police recovered a bank withdrawal form bearing the telephone number of one Raju. The deceased's relatives disclosed that Raju used to whitewash her house and that she would have called him again. Subsequently, the police found that Raju was using two more mobile phones. Raju was finally traced to his brother-in-law Arun's house at Vikaspuri. However, before they could nab him, he along with his relatives shifted to some other place. The residents, however, told the police about two of his accomplices, Vikas Yadav and Dharmender, who had also shifted their residence after Ms. Kumar's murder. Following a tip-off that Arun had fled to Madhepura in Bihar, a team went there and arrested him. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in the robbery-cum-murder case. He disclosed that he along with Raju, Vikas and Dharmender had committed the crime. At his instance, the police arrested Dharmender and have launched a hunt for the other two accused. A part of the stolen property has been recovered.
