Armymen to don new colour uniform

NEW DELHI, FEB. 16. The Army appears all set to give up its dark green olives and don lighter green combat uniform.

The proposal to change the colour of the over 1.1 million strong Army was mooted at the recent Army commanders conference and the selection appears to be at the final stages, with the Chief of the Army Staff, N.C. Vij, giving his nod on Friday.

The options being considered are either to have a sort of lighter colour with dark trousers on the pattern of the United States Army or to have the entire uniform in lighter green to give it greater combat camouflage.
