Pondy Government staff to join February 24 strike

PONDICHERRY, FEB. 16. Employees of the Pondicherry Administration and workers of various undertakings and establishments, affiliated to the Confederation of Pondicherry State Government Employees Associations, will go on a day's strike in response to the call for an all-India general strike on February 24 in defence of the workers `right to strike'. The general secretary, R. Anandarasan, said members of the various associations affiliated to the confederation would hold a meeting tomorrow at Anna Nagar and this would be followed up on February 18 by a seminar.
