Reports for duty, receives transfer order

By P. Sudhakar

TIRUNELVELI, FEB. 16. A dismissed and reinstated Government official has been transferred to Udhagamandalam when he came to report for duty.

According to official sources, Siva. Aatchinathan, State treasurer, Tamil Nadu State Treasury Employees' Association, was dismissed from service for his "active involvement" in the indefinite strike by Government employees in July last. However, he was reinstated along with 17 others in the district.

When he came to the office today, the transfer order, asking him to report for duty at Udhagamandalam, was handed over to him.

A union official said the action had been taken against Mr. Aatchinathan as he had quarrelled with a colleague in June last and the strike had nothing to do with his transfer.
