Bekal project to be completed in two years

FEB. 16.
The much-awaited Bekal tourism project would become a reality in two years of time, according to the Minister for Local Administration, Cherkalam Abdulla.
The Minister said this while inaugurating the new premises of the District Tourism Promotion Council near the Government College in Vidyanagar near here this morning. Once completed, the Bekal fort would become a world-renowned tourist spot and a sought-after tourist destination for tourists from across the globe.
The drinking water projects as part of the Bekal tourism development project are being completed. The work of star hotels by major hotel groups such as the Leela and the Oberoi would also be completed by 2006, the Minister said.
