THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 16. One person was stabbed at Kanhiramkulam near here on Monday night. According to the police, Wilson, 54, who runs a grocery shop at Kanhiramkulam, was stabbed by an unidentified assailant while he was on his way home after closing the shop. Wilson has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital. His condition was stated to be serious. A case has been registered.
Infant's body
found in train
The body of an infant was found abandoned in a bogey of the Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram passenger train on Monday. The Railway police said the body was found covered with cloth in a plastic bag beneath one of the seats. The train had arrived at the Thampanoor Central around 8-30 a.m. The infant's body was discovered by cleaners around 2-30 p.m. The body is being kept at the Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. The Railway police have registered a case of unnatural death and an investigation is on.
Woman found dead
A 38-year-old woman was found dead in her house at Kilimanoor on Monday evening. Police identified the woman as Sumathi, wife of Krishnankutty Chettiar. Police suspect the woman to have committed suicide by consuming poison. The body is being kept at the Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigations are on.
