We will bring Bommai, Deve Gowda together: Swamy

By Our Special Correspondent

MADURAI, FEB. 17 . The Janata Party sees potential to win the elections to the Karnataka Assembly by rallying together the various Janata outfits in the State.

Talking to newspersons here today, the party president, Subramanian Swamy, claimed that the Janata Party would bring together S. R. Bommai and Deve Gowda. He had appealed to Mr. Bommai to merge his outfit with the Janata Party and become its president. If not through merger, the Janata Party would work for alliances with the different Janata outfits in Karnataka to win the elections, Dr. Swamy said.

Reiterating his support to the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidates in all Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu, except Madurai, in appreciation of the patriotism shown by Ms. Jayalalithaa in opposing the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, Dr. Swamy appealed to the Union Home Minister, L. K. Advani, to "consider reviewing the security cover for Ms. Jayalalithaa."Dr. Swamy, who has declared his intention to contest from Madurai, claimed that he had successfully raised the level of the temple city "from a rural town to a frontier city" in the last five years.
