Scheme extended for coffee growers

COIMBATORE: The Central Government has accorded approval for continuation of the scheme to extend 5 per cent interest subsidy for small coffee growers on their working capital/crop loan raised from financial institution/banks during 2003-04. A release from the Coffee Board here said that the scheme was likely to be extended to large growers also and the eligible subsidy was 3 per cent per annum. Approval was awaited from the Government in this regard. The Board has requested financial institutions and banks to forward the subsidy claim before February 25.
