HYDERABAD: Microsoft Corporation India flagged off six-city Software Asset Management (SAM) workshops in association with National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom). While New Delhi was the first city for the rollout, the day long workshops will be conducted across the cities of Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune. Kiran Karnik, president of Nasscom, said in a statement here on Tuesday that such workshops become imperative as IT resources including software assets commonly form a significant segment of a business's capital asset base. Efficient practices help maximise the software asset return on IT investment. Punit Vanaria, Manager, Business Development, Microsoft, said SAM was an essential management practice that helps business maximise returns on software that it deploys and gauge the overall value that it receives from the IT investment.
