Finolex to strengthen network

KOCHI: Finolex Industries, manufacturers of PVC pipes, is to set up 400 distribution network in Kerala, says Vivek Khandekar, President of the Pune-based company. The company has recently announced a Rs. 525 crore expansion plan aimed at increasing the capacity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the raw material in the manufacture of pipes to 2.6 lakh tonnes. The capacity of pipes are to be raised to 65,000 tonnes at its Ratnagiri plant. The recent announcements like rain water harvesting and drip irrigation would boost the demand for pipes and it would go up to about three lakh tonnes in the next two to three years.
