Former CPI MLAs to contest from Coimbatore, Tenkasi

CHENNAI,
FEB. 17.
The Communist Party of India (CPI) has fielded two former MLAs, C. Subbarayan and M. Appadurai, for the Coimbatore and Tenkasi parliamentary constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections.
The CPI, which is facing the elections in alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Congress, will contest from two seats.
The party's State secretary, R. Nallakannu, today announced that Mr. Subbarayan, a former MLA from Tirupur constituency would contest from Coimbatore while Mr. Appadurai, a former MLA from Ottapidaram constituency, would be the party candidate in the Tenkasi reserved constituency in southern Tamil Nadu.
