HYDERABAD, FEB. 17. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi president, K.Chandrasekhara Rao, was closeted with the former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, M. Satyanarayana Rao, for more than an hour on Tuesday discussing the issue of alliances. Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao who turned 51 today celebrated the event amid much fanfare. Hundreds of party workers greeted him at his residence and offered bouquets. Mr.Rao greeted his followers and well wishers with the hope that separate Telangana formation would turn out to be a reality this year. Mr.Rao later told reporters that he came to seek the blessings of a `fatherly figure'. It is learnt that the veteran Congress leader urged Mr.Rao to exercise restraint in his demand for seats. The issue of disturbing the Congress MLAs who won in the last elections was also discussed with the former advising the latter against seeking their seats. Earlier, chatting with presspersons at his residence he said that in the event of an alliance with the Congress, he would invite the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi, to `Telangana Mahila Shankharavam' to be held here on March 8. Rabri Devi and Sheila Dixit are others being contacted. He said seat-sharing talks were more centred around the goal to be achieved but not on the numbers (of seats to be shared). He said TRS candidates would be fielded against all Ministers in the region.
