Srisailam decked up for Sivaratri
By Our Staff Reporter
SRISAILAM,
FEB. 17.
Srisailam, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country, has been decked up for Mahasivaratri. Thousands of devotees from different parts of the State, Karnataka and Maharashtra thronged the temple of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bramarambhika Devi on Monday and Tuesday.
About 1 lakh pilgrims are expected to have darshan tomorrow on Sivaratri day. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, will offer prayers on Wednesday. Mr Naidu, who is scheduled to arrive here on Tuesday evening, and stay for the night, postponed his arrival to tomorrow. The accommodation for the Chief Minister is being shifted from the Nandini guesthouse to Punnami guesthouse to avoid inconvenience to devotees. Meanwhile, the poor water level in the Krishna has been the striking feature this year.
