Good day for Indian Bank

The Indian Bank team which won the women's table tennis title in the inter-Bank sports meet.

CHENNAI, FEB. 17. Indian Bank hogged the limelight in table tennis, won the chess team and individual titles and claimed the women's singles title in carrom on the final day of the Banks' Sports Board (southern region) inter-Bank sports meet here on Tuesday.

Only Union Bank managed to prevent an Indian Bank sweep by winning the mixed doubles titles in table tennis.

In chess, International Masters N. Sudhakar Babu and G.B. Prakash put up a good show and made it easy for Indian Bank to clinch both the team as well as the individual honours. In fact, five out of the top six positions were taken by the Indian Bank players.

In carrom, D. Yuvarani of Indian Bank lifted the women's title with a comfortable victory over R.

Saritha of Reserve Bank. Mr. M.B.N. Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Bank, distributed the prizes.
