Cheating case against two The Humayunnagar police on Tuesday registered a case following a complaint from a group of persons hailing from Kamareddy of Nizamabad district that two residents of the area had cheated them to the tune of Rs. 18 lakhs with false promises of providing jobs abroad.

They charged Asif Ali and Shameem with collecting Rs. 1.2 lakhs per head by assuring them to provide jobs in Gulf countries.

Sari vendor robbed

Two scooter-borne persons relieved a sari vendor, Krishnaiah (40), of clothes worth Rs. 20,000 at knifepoint while he was returning home on foot near Chaderghat on Monday night, the Mirchowk police said. The assailants initially introduced themselves as agents of a big cloth store in Abids while he was passing by the Chaderghat burial ground. The duo gave him a visiting card and left. After sometime they came from behind on a scooter, threatened him with a knife and took away the clothes he was carrying.

Ends life

An eight-year-old girl, Gopamma, committed suicide by consuming pesticide in her house at Anjaiahnagar in Gachibowli on Tuesday reportedly after her father, Venkataiah, scolded her on a petty issue.
