HYDERABAD, FEB. 17. Sadasiva alias Shiva, who was recently arrested along with Badruddin by the Karnataka police on charges of involvement in the fake stamp paper scam, said here on Tuesday that he paid bribes to several officials when the fake stamp paper racket was unearthed in Hyderabad in 1999 by the Begum Bazar police. Sadasiva and Badruddin were brought from Karnataka to Hyderabad today by the Andhra Pradesh Stamps Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning. The First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Nampally Criminal Court remanded the duo to judicial custody for 21 days. Replying to a question after being taken out of the court, Sadasiva said "Though his men kidnapped me and extorted money during 1999 while operating the racket in Hyderabad, Krishna Yadav had no role in it." According to him, Devender, Anand, Sanjeev Singh, Syam Sunder and Srivastava, all Krishna Yadvav's associates, extorted money from him. The AP SIT had filed a requisition before the court who directed the Bangalore jail authorities to hand over the two accused for further interrogation as Sadasiva is reported to have played a key role in running the fake stamp paper racket in Andhra Pradesh. The petition filed by AP SIT seeking one week's police custody of the accused would come up for hearing on February 19.
