BANGALORE, FEB. 17. An attempt to burgle the Rajajinagar branch of Canara Bank, located near Sri Rama Temple, has come to light. When the bank was opened on Tuesday after the weekly holiday on Monday, it was found that some persons had gained entry into the building by removing the ventilator grill. Documents and other articles were scattered by the intruders who were apparently searching for cash. They tried to break open the strong room, Rajajinagar police said. No security guards were posted at the bank. The fingerprint bureau inspected the bank premises. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Syed Ulfath Hussein, and other senior police officials visited the place. Rajajinagar police have taken up a case on a complaint from the branch manager, M.R. Ramesh.
