Windies women's team to tour India

KOLKATA, FEB. 18. An 18-member West Indies women's cricket squad will arrive in Kolkata on Thursday night on a 22-day tour of India. The visiting team will play five one-day internationals against India and three other matches versus India `A', India `B' (under-23) and the Women's Cricket Association of India (WCAI) XI.

Mamatha Maben of Karnataka will captain the 14-member Indian team while Stephanie Power will skipper the West Indies team. Air-India medium pacer Jhulan Goswami, who was named in the Indian squad, pulled out owing to school final examination.

The teams: India: Mamatha Maben (capt, Karnataka), Mithali Raj, Jaya Sharma, Hemlata Kala, Nooshin Al Khadeer, Neetu David, Deepa Kulkarni, Sunetra Paranjpe and Arundhati Kirkire (all Railways), Anju Jain (wk), Anjum Chopra and Karuna Jain (all Air-India), Amita Sharma (Delhi) and Diana David (AP). Coach: Sudha Shah (TN); Manager: Trupti Bhattacharya (AI); Physio: Vanilla.

West Indies: Stephanie Power (capt), Nelly Williams, Juliane Nero, Clea Hoyte, Candecy Atkins, Nadine George, Verona Felecian, Felicia Cummins, Anisa Mohammed, Shane Desilva, Doris Francis, Debbie Ann Lewis, Fillipa Thomas, Indomatie Goordial and Envis Williams.
