Sir, I refer to the article, "Politics of Indira's grandchildren" (Feb. 18). Feroze Varun Gandhi's induction into the BJP has served to set the political equation right on either side. However, the BJP will have a lot of explaining to do. For, the top brass of the BJP has all along played the glorified victim of the Emergency during which Sanjay Gandhi ruled the roost with impunity.

* * * Sir, The move is going to prove costly not only for the BJP but also for the rest of the NDA allies, inasmuch as they have now deprived themselves of the advantage of targeting the Congress over the Emergency and dynastic politics. At least, there will be no more Black Day observations and photo exhibitions on the Emergency.
