Letters to the Editor
Sir, The ransacking of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, banning of Laine's book on Shivaji, and the destruction of M.F. Husain's paintings show clearly that freedom of expression is being limited. People, however educated, easily fall prey to groups that arouse passions in the name of religion. And the Government does nothing with elections coming up. But one thing is certain; these groups can destroy only manifestations of free expression, not the capacity of the artist to create.
