BJP resents inclusion of IUML in `secular front'

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 18. The BJP State president, P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, on Wednesday criticised the Congress for making the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) a constituent of the `secular front' at the national level. Addressing a press conference here, the BJP leader said that the Congress was giving political space at the national level to the League, which had been described as `dead horse' by Jawaharlal Nehru after Independence. "This is dangerous. People will not forgive this misdeed," he said

Mr. Sreedharan Pillai denied that the RSS had sent emissaries to the IUML State president, Panakkad Shihab Thangal. The journalist, T.V.R. Shenoy, who had met Mr. Thangal, was not connected with the BJP or the RSS, he said.
