LG Electronics' investment plan
CHANDIGARH: Consumer durables major, LG Electronics, will invest Rs. 500 crores in its plant at Pune in the next three years. "To increase production, LG is setting up a new plant in Pune in which Rs. 500 crores will be invested in three years, including Rs. 100 crores in the first year. With this, the company's total investment in India will be Rs. 1,000 crores," LG Electronics India Limited (LGEIL), Managing Director, K. R. Kim, said at a news conference here while launching a new range of GSM handsets. The plant is expected to start production by August next. It will cater to the needs of Southern and Western Indian markets.
