NEW DELH, FEB.18. The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president, Chaudhary Prem Singh, today termed as wrong and baseless the allegations by the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party that it had fudged the voters' list and was busy enlisting bogus voters. He said the BJP had panicked as defeat stared hard in its face during the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. In a statement here, Mr. Prem Singh said the Congress cadres had worked hard to enrol new and genuine voters in the electoral rolls during the recent drive and if the BJP had failed to inspire its workers, the Congress should not be faulted for it. He said that the large number of forms submitted by the Congress workers was an indication of the enthusiasm prevailing among them and the meagre forms submitted by the BJP indicated the low morale of its workers. Lambasting the Delhi BJP president, Harsh Vardhan, for blaming the Congress for putting in names of bogus voters, Mr. Prem Singh said that as the BJP leaders expected a defeat at the hands of the Congress in the Lok Sabha polls, it was now trying to put the blame on the faulty electoral rolls. He said Congress had ensured that only genuine people are included in the rolls and bogus votes enlisted by the communal forces are deleted. He said the people of Delhi and the country had clearly understood the communal policies of the NDA Government at the Centre and were waiting for an opportunity to teach it a lesson.
